A book written in 1948 which prophesied the events that would happen in future. Although 1984 is now thirty years in the past yet the narrative can still holds true for today. The story is about Oceania controlled by Big Brother who controls each and every thing and no sense of privacy exists. Our protagonist Winston Smith, a member of Outer Party, who hates the Party secretly and hopes for a rebellion against Big Brother. Orwell describes a world of terror where the price of freedom is betrayal.

Eric Arthur Blair, more famously known as George Orwell was an English poet, novelist and essayist. His work is marked by clarity, intelligence and wit. He is most popular for his two novels Nineteen Eighty Four and Animal Farm. In 2008, The Times ranked him second on a list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945". He died of severe Tuberculosis in 1950 at the age of 46.
