Performance
The new i5 quad-core processor is based on Intel’s Sandy Bridge micro architecture, which integrates the CPU, cache, and memory controller on one chip, allowing for fast data access over fewer buses. The same processor is nearly 24% faster than the older i3 dual core processors. The desktop also comes with a standard 4GB memory which is upgradeable to 8GB along with the new slot-loading, 8X SuperDrive that can burn dual-layer DVDs at 4X speeds, and a SDXD card slot for easy transfer of photos and videos from SD cards used in cameras and camcorders.

Multimedia Configuration and Connectivity
A brilliant new feature in the iMac is the new Face Time HD camera which allows you to make video calls to other Face Time clients in 720p resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio and a much-improved low-light performance which is unprecedented. A new external connection called Thunderbolt can be used to attach Mini Display Port monitors to the machine as well.
