Features

The Sony USM8GM/W can be easily connected to a computer. It supports Mac OS X 10.1 to 10.6, Windows 7, Windows XP (SP3 and higher versions) and Windows Vista. It is a plug and play device and does not require a driver. Its USB interface 2.0 ensures it will be supported by devices with 2.0 ports and those with lower versions. Its operating temperature and storage temperature range 0-35°C and 20-60°C, respectively.

Compact and Portable Design

The Sony USM16GM/W is compact in terms of size. It measures 1.7 x 0.4 x 4 cm in dimension and weighs about 4 grams. This portable device would thus easily fit in a small pocket of your backpack or laptop bag.

Storage Capacity

Use the Sony USM16GM/W to store up to 30 hours of video feeds that are recorded at 384 Kbps. However, with regard to high-definition videos, keep in mind that they take up a bit rate of about 8000 Kbps besides the stereophonic audio at the rate of 284 Kbps. You can store about 2 hours of high-quality video on this pen drive. The Sony pen drive will let you store and transfer up to 1600 Mp3 songs. It must be noted that the number of songs stored depends upon the bit rate at which they were originally recorded. Some songs are recorded at 128 Kbps and some are recorded at 256 Kbps. If you want to store more songs, download them at 128 Kbps. If you wish to store audio formats like WAV and FLV that occupy much more space in comparison to the Mp3 format, the number of files stored will be less than 1600.

Read and Write Speed

The Sony pen drive will read and transfer data at high speed as well. Thus, you can transfer movies and software in no time at all.
