Synopsis and Features:

In Dark Souls you are introduced to the world named Lordran - a land filled with monsters, undead warriors and many other horrifying creatures. You are hunting down the person named Artorias of Abyss as he is responsible for all the chaos caused in Lordran. Artorias is very powerful and his only objective is to spread darkness as much as he can. With horrendous creatures after your life, can you make everything right in time? Discover the answers by playing Dark Souls.

Developed by From Software and published by Namco Bandai Games, Dark Souls tells a dark story that will keep you up all night when you are playing the game. The minimum hardware specifications required to play the game without any hassle on your computer are Windows XP, a 2.66 Ghz Intel i5 750 or a 3.0 Ghz AMD Phenom II x4 940 processor, 4 GB RAM, 8 GB free hard disk space, and an ATI Radeon HD Series 6x or Nvidia Geforce GTX Series graphics card.

The single-player campaign in the game will take you across the land of Lordran as you try to explore what went wrong in the game’s universe. You have to be extremely careful of the environment around you as death lurks around every corner. The relentless onslaught from enemies keeps the game-play engaging. There are various types of enemies in the game such as fire demons, lizardmen, evil butchers, alligators shaped like cats, skeletal swordsmen and many others.

All these enemies come at you with such strength that you will be dead before you can even bat an eyelid. Only by replaying the levels and with careful planning can you kill them and move towards the next level. You start by first selecting a character then selecting a class to advance through the game. The entire game is like a huge realm with different parts that are spread out throughout the game and only open up after you complete certain objectives.

Killing bosses is of utmost importance in the game as you can collect an element called Humanity. This allows you to heal better and plan better as you can take more rest. Bonfires act as checkpoints in the game. These are rarely found and should be searched with expert precision if you are to find one. The visuals are designed to induce fear and they do an excellent job at it.

Online Features:

You can replenish your health by drinking potions available in health flasks and upgrade your inventory by spending souls you collected from downed enemies. The multiplayer experience of Dark Souls is very different from other games. The game is built with difficult challenges that need help from strangers or friends that are playing the game.

While playing the game online you can see other players as shadows moving along with you. Fallen comrades are represented as blood spatters on the ground and the final moments in which they were vanquished will play on screen when you touch the blood stain. This is an excellent feature as you can learn the weak points of enemies and beat them to advance further in the game.

There are many covenants spread out in the game that allow you to join them to take out other players playing the game online. However, the primary focus lies in helping people rather than killing them. You can play co-op matches with others as Dark Souls features a PvP Online Matchmaking System. The updates, demos, DLCs for the game can be downloaded directly from the company’s website.
