Prdocut DescriptionMaster Financial Modeling, Corporate Valuation and Accounting in Excel.
Mastering Microsoft Excel
How Investment Bankers do Financial Modeling
How Investment Bankers do Corporate Valuations
Interpreting the Finance Industry
Financial modeling is the task of building an abstract representation (a model) of a real world financial situation. This is usually built as a complex Microsoft Excel document. Banks and financial institutions use them to evaluate deals and compare companies or markets. Using a financial model, one can build a corporate valuation, or estimate the economic value of a business.
Using a number of provided Excel templates, you will learn the steps necessary to build a formal corporate valuation from scratch using the same strategies that investment bankers use. The course is ideal for students to bridge the gap between academics and the real world. You will be equipped with the practical financial skill set that will be needed your first day on the job.
If you aren't new to the financial accounting or banking industry, adding these skills to the power of Excel could dramatically increase your efficiency and enable you to process and evaluate much more information at a faster pace.
This course is most suited for investment bankers, equity research professionals, or those pursuing a CA, CFA, FRM or MBA.
Professionals working in business planning and strategy, private management or commercial banking would also benefit. There are no prerequisites for this course, though some familiarity with corporate finances or a desire to have a career in finance would be beneficial.
Content and Overview
Over 159 lectures and over 13 hours of content, you will start with Excel basics by reviewing important functions, Excel best practices, scenario analysis, and advanced charts before moving on to full-scale Financial Modeling.
In the financial modeling sections, you will learn assumptions, historical ratio analysis, projecting income statements, projecting working capital, depreciation schedules, amortization schedules, shareholders equity schedule and shareholders outstanding schedule. Students will cover cash flow statements, setting up debt schedules, and circular reference.
After finishing the financial modeling sections with an in depth case study and detailed template, students move on to corporate valuation, including the dividend discount model, DCF, DCF-FCFF, and understanding capital structure. In the final section students learn WACC CAPM Terminal Value TV.
Upon completion of this course you will know how to use excel for investment banking and finance applications. You will also know the fundamental skills of accounting and valuation, financial modeling, and using excel templates and worksheets.
