Encapsulated in a unique dome, the Focal Dome is designed to let you discover true musical performance without constraints. Built from chosen materials, the Focal Dome creates the sonic experience of an audiophile system within the constraints of a 14cm diameter. The Focal Dome is made from die-cast aluminium alloy with an ultra-glossy finish; designed to be sophisticated, yet extremely simple! The whole body is smooth, without any screws or pivot joints visible. The Focal Dome is built of two separate components – the Dome Satellite Speaker and the Dome Active Subwoofer.
Focal Dome Satellite Speaker
The Focal Dome 5.1 channel satellite speaker is a 2-way compact, sealed loudspeaker, with an extremely glossy finish to give your room elegance and charm with its futuristic look. The speaker consists of a 10cm Polyglass Mid-Bass and a 25mm Aluminium Magnesium inverted dome tweeter. The Dome satellite has a frequency range of 80Hz to 28KHz. These small speakers pack in 88dB of sensitivity. The nominal impedance of the speakers is 8 Ohms and the minimal impedance is 4 Ohms. The Focal Dome Satellite speaker requires an external power source to drive the system, with the recommended wattage range being 25W to 100W. The speakers are extremely lightweight and weigh only 1.9kg; which gives you the flexibility of either wall-mounting them or keeping them on top of a horizontal base.
Focal Dome Subwoofer
The Focal Dome Subwoofer is an active bass reflex subwoofer which delivers the pumping bass of the Dome 2.1 speaker ensemble. The high-gloss black finish adds an elegant and futuristic look to your room. The driver is a 21cm Polyflex woofer. The frequency range of the subwoofer is between 42Hz and 200Hz to produce that row rumbling bass without any distortion. The Lowest frequency point of the speaker is at 35Hz. The Focal Dome subwoofer has an inbuilt amplifier which is able to give a brilliant output of 100W. The subwoofer also features a variable crossover mechanism between 50Hz to 200Hz where it hands over the bass signals to the satellite speakers. Moreover it also has a 0 degree/180 degree phase inverter. The net weight of the speakers is a meagre 8.2 kg allowing you the versatility to use it as per your preference for your home audio setup.
