Buying the right badminton racquet:
1. Weight: A good quality racquet weighs between 83 - 100 gms. A lightweight racquet is easier to swing where as a heavy weight racquet is more stable. Usually racquets with heavier weight are preferred for Beginners and Intermediate whereas light weight racquets are used by professionals.
2. Grip Size: The grip sizes starts from G2 with G2 being the smallest and G5 being the largest grip size. Usually a thicker grip is preferred for Beginners and Intermediate players whereas professional players use thinner grips. Also, attacking players prefer a larger grip which provides a good hold where as players who want to disguise their shots prefer thinner grip so that they can quickly rotate the racquet in their hand.
