How IT Works

  1. You can buy InfyShield Extended Warranty within 15 days of purchasing your product.
  2. Please Register your InfyShield Service pack within 3 days of receiving it. For registration, you will need to upload the product purchase invoice validating product details.
  3. Upon submitting, you will receive confirmation that we have received the details submitted by you.
  4. After approval, you will receive an email confirming Registration and Activation of your service plan.
  5. If your product fails during the term of InfyShield Plan, you can Ask for service by contacting InfyShield customer care help desk.
  6. If the device cannot be repaired, it will be replaced.

1. Why should I buy an Extended Warranty Service Plan?

You love your device and it is more likely to fail as it gets older.


The Electronics Hardware Technology is getting hugely integrated and complex. In out of warranty conditions, the cost of repairs (Labor Charges + Cost of Parts) are very high. In many cases, the cost of repairs is so high that the overall cost of repair becomes unaffordable forcing you to buy a new device. In some cases, due to non-availability of certain parts, you have no option but to buy a new device.

InfyShield Warranty Extension provides protection against such high costs by extending the services with a low fixed cost. We don't stop there: if due to any of the above reason, there is a need to replace the device, we bear the whole cost. Thus you get Total Protection.

2. What is InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan?

When you buy your device, the manufacturer provides warranty against manufacturing defects for a limited period; normally one year. InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plans provide extension of service cover up to 3 years from the date of purchase of your device against a nominal fixed price.

InfyShield Warranty Extension Service Plan provides protection against electrical and mechanical breakdowns which means defects which are caused during normal usage and working conditions are covered.

5. Does InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan covers all parts of my product?

As we mentioned in other question, the InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan is a comprehensive service which covers all electrical and mechanical parts which are necessary for the product to function. It is important for You to know that the problems (other than the hardware parts) which are not related or caused due to malfunctioning of covered parts are liable to be charged extra e.g. Damage or defects caused by unauthorized repair, incorrect installation, theft, burglary, accident, terrorism, abuse or misuse of the product, fire, use on an incorrect voltage, power surges, power dips, poor environmental operating conditions, thunderstorm, household pets, rats, cockroaches or any other animals or insects, Force Majeure etc. The plan does not cover accessories, consumables, external items etc. e.g. external cables, toner, cartridges, batteries, chargers, adapters, memory cards, paper etc. You MUST read the terms and conditions of your Service Plan very carefully before requesting for service. Those services and parts which are not covered in part or full in the Service Plan are liable to be charged extra at actual by You. For any doubts or clarifications, please feel free to contact us.

6.Why some of the parts like batteries, adaptors, body parts, ink cartridges, toner cartridges etc. not     

   covered under extended warranty service plan?

The purpose of extended warranty service plan is to provide you hardware failure protection at a reasonable and affordable cost. Many parts listed above and mentioned in exclusions are consumables which means they get consumed while you use the product while some of the parts like body parts do not malfunction. Excluding such items not only reduces your cost of extended warranty service plan, but it also ensures you pay for only that what you actually require or consume.

 

7. What should I consider before I buy an extended warranty?

This is important question before buying an extended warranty for your product. Things you should consider:

  • Please review whether you actually need an extended warranty - like you should check whether your product is covered under some other service plan or insurance.
  • Short term extended warranty plans are costlier than a long term. For example, a one year extended service plan and renewing it for another year will be costlier than buying a 2 years extended warranty service plan.
  • Buy the extended warranty at the first available opportunity. Buying extended warranty at the time of your product purchase will be cheaper than buying the same towards the end of the standard warranty period.
  • Look at the profile of the promoters of the warranty provider. The professionals in customer service industry will be the most suited to understand your service needs.
  • Be careful and read all inclusions and exclusions i.e. what is covered and what is not covered under extended warranty service plan.

8. When can I buy Warranty Extension Service Plan?

All Extended Warranty Service Plans can be purchased only within specified limit of 15 days from the date of purchase of your product.

We recommend you to Buy InfyShield Service Plan at the very first available opportunity i.e. at the time of purchasing your product.

9. When does the InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan begin?

The whole objective of InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan is to provide you uninterrupted services to Your Product in case it develops a defect.

Services under InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan commences from the very next day of Your product's manufacturer's warranty expires.

10. Manufacturer warranty of my product has expired and I want to purchase InfyShield Extended     

      Warranty Service Plan. Can I buy it now?

We are thankful for your faith in InfyShield but regret to inform you that Warranty Extension Service plan can be purchased within limited time period from the date of product purchase.

Please leave description of your product including make, model, serial number, product condition, your contact details etc. on our Contact Form. We will contact you once we have a solution for you.

11. Where would I find the model number or serial number on the product?

It is important to have very accurate Model Name, Model Number and the Unit Serial Number. For Mobility products, IMEI number is also a Must.

Many appliances have a model name and number on the front of the unit but this is not the number the manufacturers use. Your receipt may have the serial number of your product. The model and serial numbers are located on the product model number plate. The product owner's manual will tell you exactly where the product model number plate is located on your product. Most manufacturer model and serial numbers consist of a combination of letters and numbers. Some will also include dashes and dots.

 

Caution:
It is important to take the exact model and serial number from the product model number plate on the product only. Identification numbers on sales receipts, shipping boxes and energy guide stickers usually contain partial model numbers.

Do not use these sources to obtain your model number. User and care manuals are also not a good way to find your model number. These booklets are often produced to cover several different models and there is no way of identifying which model number is for your product

12. Why do I need to register my Service Plan?

Registration is MANDATORY for us to know your product description, your contact details, location, warranty start & end dates etc. This ensures that we will be able to plan and equip ourselves to deliver you excellent service when you need it.

13. When should I register my Service Plan?

You should register the InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan at the very first available opportunity which may be at the time of purchase of the InfyShield and You must register within 3 Business days of purchase of InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan to get uninterrupted service. We are not obligated to provide service to the Products / Devices whose InfyShield Service Plan is not REGISTERED with us within specified timelines.

 

14. How can I register my InfyShield Service Plan?

Registration can be done in the following simple ways:

15. What documents and details are required to Register my InfyShield Service Plan?

To register your InfyShield Service Plan, we will need a Clear and Legible Scan Copy or Photograph or a Photocopy of invoice of the purchase of your product which should have the product details including Purchase Price (Tax inclusive) unit serial number, IMEI number where applicable, make, model etc. and a Copy of proof of purchase of InfyShield Service Plan in case you bought it as a standalone product.

Separate details of associated product are necessary e.g. Monitor Unit with a Desktop Computer, Indoor Unit of a Split Air Conditioner if bought together with the Outdoor Unit etc.

16. I want to gift or sell my product which is covered under InfyShield Extended Warranty Service plan.             

      Will the Service Plan also get transferred?

Yes Sure. This plan may be transferred to an eligible party to whom you sell or give the Product while this plan is in force. The original sales receipt must be transferred as well to be eligible for service under this plan.

This transfer may be accomplished only if you notify us by mail with the name, address and contact details of the new owner within 15 days of the change of ownership.

17. How can I get service?

It is simple but before you panic and call us, we recommend You to check that the malfunction of your product is not due to external sources like network signal, incorrect settings, internet connectivity, improper power supply etc. This will help you to resolve problem quickly.

However, if your equipment still malfunctions, please contact our Service Desk as per the Contacts Section of this Plan or Visit our Website for updated contact procedure.

After receiving your service request, we will respond quickly to solve the problem through our call centre. If the problem is not solved, we will depute our technician to visit you (in case of Onsite Service Plan) or you will have to take your product along with a copy of proof of this plan to the nearest authorized service center (in case of Carry-in Service Plan).

Please Note: Do not carry your product directly to any service centre whether or not authorized by us without prior approval of our Service Desk. This is to ensure you get services to the best of our efforts and updated contacts list.

18. I am travelling outside India. How can I get service in the country of my travel?

InfyShield Extended Warranty Service Plan covers services within India only at present.

19. What will happen if the Service Centre is not able to repair my product?

We appreciate your concern. This is an unlikely situation because services are rendered by Authorised Service Centres only. However, in such an unfortunate situation, We will replace Your product with an equivalent model with similar or better specification of same or similar make at our own discretion as per terms and conditions of the Service Plan document.

20. I have bought a product from outside India. Can I get my product covered under InfyShield Service       

       Plan?

We are thankful for your faith in InfyShield but regret to inform you that Warranty Extension Service plan can be purchased for products purchased in India and who have manufacturer's warranty coverage available in India. However, please leave description of your product including make, model, serial number, product condition, your contact details etc. on our Contact Form.
