The iStorage diskGenie 128-bit 250GB Portable Hard Drive utilizes a secure access via a personalized 6 digit to 16 digit customizable PIN number, using Military Grade Real-Time 128-Bit AES Hardware Encryption. The data in the disk is encrypted when it is not connected to any device. The device has an Administration Mode which allows one Admin and up to 10 user account PIN codes. The device is Government accredited and is the only portable Hard Disk to be awarded CESG CCTM. The iStorage diskGenie 128-bit 250GB Portable Hard Drive has an in-built Brute Force Hack Defence Mechanism, which is a 3-Pronged approach. The first step includes denying access to the drive unless the PIN is verified. The Second step occurs after 6 incorrect attempts, when the drive locks itself and needs disconnection. This feature blocks automated attempts to enter PIN number. After a 100 incorrect PIN attempts, the iStorage diskGenie 128-bit 250GB Portable Hard Drive assumes it is being attacked, destroys the Encryption Key and locks itself, rendering the data useless. It also features Variable Time Circuit (VTC) technology, thwarting timing attacks aimed at accessing the drive by studying its behaviour and infiltrating its electronics.
