JBL engineers designed the GT6-S266 speaker to produce strong, clear sound from a head-unit or amplifier capable of delivering up to 220 watts of power. This makes the GT6-S266 an ideal match to systems powered with head-units or factory-amplifiers with power levels up to 220 watts, or even with many of the GT6 Series amplifier combinations to help keep up with systems that feature one or more subwoofers. And its great power-handling specifications also increase reliability over the lifetime of the speaker.
Plus One woofer cone for increased bass output
The JBL GT6-S266 speaker features a Plus One woofer cone that puts up to 30 percent more surface area to work than a standard cone of the same size. It increases bass output while drawing less power from your amplifier.
Titanium-laminate tweeter for bright, distinct high-frequency sound
The GT6-S266 speaker’s high-output, titanium-laminate tweeter improves clarity and the presence of high-end sounds, helping those delicate frequencies ring out above road noise.
Vented motor assembly to dissipate heat
Excessive heat can build up in a loudspeaker system with extended use, causing a kind of distortion called power compression. But you won’t hear it in the GT6-S266. Its motor assembly is vented to disperse heat and reduce power compression.
