LAUGHTER LEGENDS (10 VCD PACK) :
LAUREL AND HARDY
The Comedy team of Laurel and Hardy made hundreds of movies, both shorts and features, and the two men were among Hollywood’s biggest stars from the 1930s to the 1950s. Stan Laurel was born Arthur Stanley Jefferson in Ulverston, Eangland (16 June 1890) and Oliver Hardy was born Norvell Hardy in Harlem, Georgia (18 January 1892).
Laurel and Hardy’s onscreen personas are of two dim but eternally optimistic men, secure in their perpetual and impregnable innocence. Their humor is physical, but their accident-prone buffoonery is distinaguished by their affable persobalities and mutual devotion; essentially “Children” in an adult world.
Easily recognizable, they almost always played themselves in the movies: Laurel was the skinny, innocent one and Hardy was round, blustery one.

CHAPLIN:
Chaplin the name alone evokes the image of a character with a brush like moustache in a derby, oversized trousers, floppy shoes and a cane. He was and is perhaps still the most memorable character in film history. It was at the tender age of 9 that Charles Chaplin made his debut at the Tivoli in Manchester with a dog – dancing trope. Although it may not have seemed possible at the time Charlie Chaplin had begun his journey to stardom. Chaplin was a human icon in a unique way, representing deep feelings for many in his portrayal of a man against the world. Charlie Chaplin made the world laugh, cry and think because of his genius and versatility.
