About the Author
William Carruthers was born in Glasgow, Scotland and completed his education from Glasgow University. He received an Honours degree in 1956 and PhD in 1949. He worked for the Medical Research Council at Exeter. He then joined the faculty at the University of Exeter. He was first a lecturer and later went on to become a senior lecturer at the Department of Chemistry in Exeter. He dies in 1990.
Iain Coldham was born in Cheshire. He completed his education from Cambridge University. He received his PhD in 1989. He completed his postdoctoral studies from the University of Texas in Austin. He was a lecturer at the University of Exeter. He is now a reader in the Chemistry Department at the University of Sheffield.
