I have upgraded this Camera from Nikon D70 which I bought 10 years back. Learning Curve with D800 is very fast as many of the control button and Menu options are similar as Nikon D70. This is certainly have high number features and improvements then D70. I can use all my non DX lenses and Flashlight with this Camera.
The only draw back is no cheaper wide angle lenses options for Nikon D800. My 18-70 DX lens does not work well on this.
I have upgraded Nikon D800 from my Nikon D70 which I bought 10 years back. Best thing I found is the upgrade learning path, which is not much. You can apply your D70 knowledge easily on D800. It has tons of features I need to learn.
The only cons I found is Nikon do not have cheaper option for Wide Angle lenses on this FX camera. My DX lenses are not much of use here.
