Scion of Ikshvaku is the story of Ram, the legendary Indian king who is regarded to be an incarnation of Vishnu. The story follows the life of Ram, his ascension to the throne and his subsequent exile with his wife Sita and brother Laxman.
Synopsis
Dasharath's defeat in the terrible war with the Lankan trader, Raavan, is taking its toll on the people of the Sapt Sindhu. Raavan does not impose his rule on the defeated, instead, he imposes his trade. As money is sucked out of the empire, the population descends into poverty and despondency. They cry for a leader to rescue them. Little do they appreciate that the leader is one whom they know - a prince called Ram, a tortured and ostracised prince whom they tried to break. He loves his country and his countrymen, even when they torment him. He stands alone for the law.
Will Ram rise above the taint that others pile on him? Will his love for Sita sustain him through his struggle? Will he defeat the demon Lord Raavan who destroyed his childhood? Will he fulfill the destiny of Vishnu? This edition, titled Ikshvaku Ke Vanshaj, features a Hindi translation of the book.
