i have compared this handset with samsung galaxy core. Xperia M and Galaxy core are of same range and having almost same features. Xperia M is much better in lieu of camera, battery, Gpu, especially processor, looks and all.
I have already ordered this phone from snapdeal. before purchase for smartphone I compare it with many handsets in mid range for around 11k to 20k and finally decide to purchase for this phone when it also not available in market. When I compared this smart phone with different smart phones I found that it has many cons then others like,
--> First of all 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB internal storage, internal storage is low but it no matter because u can expend it up to 32 GB.
--> It have 5 megapixel primary camera with LED flash and 0.3 megapixel secondary camera, we all know sony's camera result is always best then other. We can shoot 720p videos by this phone.
--> It gives android's latest version 4.1(Jelly Bean) which will updatable in future.
--> It comes with 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus Dual-core processor and adreno 305 GPU which allows you to play high graphics games and you can also play 1080p movies and videos by using MX-player.
--> After all you can do many smart things by this smart phone and you will get brand like Sony with good look in this mid range.
--> So friends, if you want to purchase for mid range smart-phone you can buy this phone without any issue...
Waiting for get this phone in my hands..... :) :) :)
very smart like me i am waiting this mobile ...long time i am happy
I am writing this review based on my expeience after 2-3 month of purchase. I will not go into too much spec and details as it has been mentioned. The pros and cons are as following:
i. Graphics: Very good due to Adreno 205, compared to Samsung mobiles (Adreno 203 in many models in these range)
ii. Processor: Excellent due to dual core Qualcomm.
iii.Battery Life: Very good, with moderate usage goes for 1 day atleast. Guys who are looking for Android mobile should consider it as good. Battery is 1750 MAH which is a plus.
iv. RAM: 1 GB RAM is also a big boost.
v. OS: Its 4.1 jelly bean. And as the RAM is 1 GB, we can be sure of that this phone is going to support the next Android version for the coming years.
vi. Apps: Sony comes up with some pre-installed android apps and maximum are usefuls. Though you can get it fom play store also.
vii. Storage: Though internal storage is said as 4 GB, but user gets 2.5+ GB for usage, whic is not that bad.For extra memoy you can go for micro sd upto 32 GB.
viii. Display: If you are fan of jumbo 5-7 inches phone then you might be a little dissapointed. But if you like the size which fits into your pocket, then 4 inch display is ideal and screen resoultion is also good(reasonable dpi).
ix. Design: Sony xperia M is sleek and is much lighter than one will expect.
i. Sound: Though Sony is known fo its sound quality, the quality is fine when used with headphones. But would have expected a little bit moe from the speeaker phones.
ii. Camera: Xperia M has dual camera (Rear: 5.0 MP and front: 0.3 MP) with LED flash, which is fine. But would have been happier if it do produce a little bit better image quality.
Overall this mobile is a good purchase in this 13.K range for guys who love android over Windows 8.
best phone by sony in lower range ..i loved it ..
This is a great offering from SONY. It ises same processor as XPERIA L.
Pros: Good screen at this price
5MP camera+ Secondary VGA
Fast Dualcore processor with adreno 305 GPU performs well.
Can play fullHD (1080p) videos.
Cons: Almost nothing compared to it's price.
Note: Xperia M uses snapdragon krait cores and not cortex A-5. So it is superior to galaxy Core, HTC desire X etc.

good phone but camra is not that powerful
Very rich features and averybody know about the Sony camera quality. In short awesome phone in 13k
Phone is good in price range. There is not much difference between Xperia L and M (only screen and camera). But better go for Xperia L because you can have big and widescreen(Xperia m got 4 inch screen but not wide so u won't feel like 4 inch mobile).I bought white colour, but it is not looking good. Better you go for black colour.
Games are running smooth including Dark Knight, temple run2,OZ, Subway surfers etc. Overall phone is good but if you have extra money go for Xperia L.
Excellent. Best features in the range. Infact I did not come accross any other model that has so many features in this range.
Just a awesome product i have bought online.Device was not associated with any kind of wear & tear.
overall good phone. but very low inbuilt storage, gamers will be disappointed.
Removable battery – Being able to pop out the battery is always useful. A removable battery allows you to slide in a replacement if you're out of power. It can also make resetting and warranty repairs easier should there be any issues with the device
MicroSD slot – We live in a media filled age; offline songs, movies and games all take up storage space. The Xperia M supports micro SD cards up to 32 GB so you can store plenty
Weight – Budget handsets tend to be a fair amount smaller than the flagships. At just 124 x 62 x 9.3 mm and 115 grams, the Xperia M is one of the lightest fully-featured smartphones available.
Screen size – For those who think phones are getting too big, the Xperia M may be just for you. The 4 inch panel is still just as big as the iPhone 5 (although the resolution doesn't quite reach as high!); keeping it smaller helps with overall size and weight.
Camera button – Starting to disappear from many devices these days is a dedicated camera shutter button. A quick press will take you straight into the camera app and also assists in taking pictures, making it easier to steady the device and capture an image, without having to touch the screen.
USB on the go (OTG) – Considered a minor feature by many, USB OTG can actually be surprisingly useful. A separate accessory allows you to connect USB flash memory sticks, memory card readers and other select peripherals. The feature is oddly absent on a number of devices.
PlayStation certified – As with almost all new Sony smartphones, the Xperia M is PlayStation certified. This means the device has access to the PlayStation Mobile store for the download of unique games
Memory – Despite the additional memory card slot, Sony have only provided 4GB of internal storage on the Xperia M. Sony have optimised their Android installation so it doesn't take up too much space; still there is only about 2.5 – 3 GB available to the user.
Size – The Xperia M may be light but it's strangely bulky given the 4 inch screen size. The bezel around the screen is very large adding a fair bit of extra height and width and looks quite unattractive compared to many other devices on the market.
Screen quality – 4 inches a decent middle of the road screen size however the 854 x 480 resolution is very standard. It's not a terrible resolution for this price point, matching the competition, but it would have been good to see Sony push limits a little bit and try to squeeze a 720p panel in a cheaper device.
Camera resolution – Along with the screen quality, the camera shows that Sony were to hit a particular price point. Sony provide many other manufacturers with camera modules so it's always a shame to see them include a sub par sensor. They have included an Exmor RS sensor, so HDR (High Dynamic Range) is available, but it is only at 5 MP.
Video out – The Xperia M doesn't offer video out through an MHL enabled micro USB port. The technology has been available for some time so it would be good to see it appearing on lower end devices. The Xperia M is DLNA certified though, so with some tinkering you may be able to get it set up on a home network streaming to a Smart TV or PC
As low range devices go, the Xperia M happily sits amongst the crowd, providing an up to date Android experience. The handset follows Sony's recent design language and so is unmistakeably from 'this year' and provides the basic smartphone features required at a decent price.
If you're buying SIM free, it's incredibly difficult to recommend the Xperia M over the Xperia L, which at just 27 GBP + VAT more offers a slightly larger screen and 4 GB more storage, as well as the superior 8MP Exmor RS camera.
The difference will probably lie in getting the device on contract from a network provider. With lower costs and specs than the Xperia L, I would expect the Xperia M to be available in lower tier price plans, providing Sony with an option to market at consumers in retail stores looking at different plans.
