Description

Synopsis:

This novel explores the attempted homicide of Bob Marley in the late 1970s. ‘A Brief History of Seven Killings’ has won the 2015 Man Booker Prize for fiction.

Two days before the Smile Jamaica Concert, gunmen forced their way into Bob Marley’s house and nearly killed him, his wife, and his manager. They injured several others too. On December 5, he was supposed to play for the concert but he left the country the next day after the attack.

The author has made consistent effort in this book to make reading comfortable and informative. This novel holds the aftermath from the streets and slums of Kingston in the ‘70s, the crack wars in ‘80s New York, to a transformed Jamaica in the’90s.
