What Young India Wants is the first non-fiction by Chetan Bhagat after five fictions. It is a compilation of his speeches and essays, which cover various topics ranging from Indian society, Indian politics and young Indians. What Young India Wants revolves around Chetan Bhagat's thoughts and innovations on how to improve the Indian economy through social reforms. The book criticises the dis-function of the Indian government as well as moralities regarding the current condition of India. He has written about how India can turn out to be a progressive society in the coming times. He talks about the rampant corruption in India and how society should change to rid it. The theme is revolves around his dream of a free and forward-minded nation.

About the Author

Chetan Bhagat is a columnist, speaker and author from India. He left a career in international investment banking in the year 2009 to spend his time writing fiction. Bhagat has authored many bestsellers, and his works include: Five Point Someone, One Night @ the Call Centre, Three Mistakes of My Life, 2 States - The Story of My Marriage and Revolution 2020.

Bhagat follows a light-hearted and simple way of writing. Though his books and columns have drawn sharp reviews from critics, he still enjoys a large fan base. He is an IIT-Delhi and IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus, both the institutes being of high repute and distinction. He married his sweetheart Anusha Suryanarayan, whom he met at IIM in the year 1999.
