The Cisco RV042 Dual WAN VPN Ethernet Router is a high-performance device that delivers secure, fast, and reliable connectivity and outstanding performance. The Cisco RV042 Dual WAN VPN Ethernet Router enables two connections. You can connect to a single service provider with load balancing, and you can also connect to different service providers.
The router’s high-capacity IP security virtual private network (VPN) capabilities allow several offices and employees to access the information they require remotely and securely. As a further safeguard to your data and network, the router provides optional cloud-based web filtering and business-class security features.
Configuring the router is a breeze, thanks to the intuitive and browser based device manager and setup wizards.

Connectivity
The router has dual 10/100 Mbps fast Ethernet WAN ports to support business continuity and load balancing. There is also an in-built 4-port fast Ethernet switch. With the Cisco RV042 Dual WAN VPN Ethernet Router, protocols can be bound to a specific WAN port for load balancing. The Dual WAN is configurable for Smartlink backup or load balancing.
Wireless Standards and Network protocols
The router’s standards are 802.3, 802.3u; IPv4 (RFC 791); and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) v1 (RFC 1058) and v2 (RFC 1723).
The network protocols are DHCP server, DHCP client, DHCP relay agent; Static IP; DNS relay, Dynamic DNS; PPPoE; PPTP; and transparent bridge.
Security
With this secure device you get a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall, hardware encryption, IP spoofing, denial of service (DoS), SYN flood, land attack, email alert for hacker attack, etc.
With the Cisco RV042 Dual WAN VPN Ethernet Router, you get Static URL blocking or keyword blocking as far as content filtering is concerned. For secure management, there is HTTPS, username/password and password complexity.
Management
The management protocols are Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) v1 and v2c, web browser, and Bonjour. The firmware is upgradable through web browser and imported/exported configuration file.

The router has 4 10/100 RJ-45 ports, 1 10/100 RJ-45 DMZ/Internet port, and 1 10/100 RJ-45 Internet port.
