Synopsis
In this book, the title character, who is a talking mouse lives on Mouse Island and works as a journalist and editor for a newspaper The Rodent's Gazette'. He lives with his sister Thea, cousin Trap and nephew Benjamin. Geronimo had been spending too much money and had nothing left in his bank account. When his grandfather learns how spendthrift Geronimo is, he sends him off to live with his miserly Uncle Stingysnout at Moldy Manor. His uncle teaches him the importance of saving. Geronimo wished that he could learn to be more frugal without being driven crazy by his Uncle.

The series Geronimo Stilton is a children's book series and had been first published by Edizioni Piemme of Milan, Italy from the year 2000. From 2004, Scholastic Corporation had been publishing the English version. The idea was originally thought by Elisabetta Dami. Elisabetta Dami is an Italian fiction writer and author of children's books. She is known for the Geronimo Stilton series. In her other books the central characters are Thea Stilton and the Thea Sisters.
