Qutab miner is a soaring, 72.5 Mhigh tower of victory. Its construction was started in 1193 by qutabuddin aibak immediately after the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu kingdom. It was completed by his successors iltutmish and firoz shah tughlak .The development of architectural styles from aibak to tughlak is evident in the miner built out of red sand stone and marble. At the foot of the tower is the quwwatulislam mosque, the first mosque to be built in India. It is now a unesco world heritage site.
