Adjust the Leveler so the filter is perfectly level to Water Level New Aquariums: Fill the tank to the level shown by the dotted line. Existing Aquariums: Make sure the outflow is above the water line. Remove the cover and fill the entire filter with water. Place the included biological filtration rings on the Biological Filtration Caddy. Place the Caddy in the slot that is closest to the water outflow. Unwrap and rinse the cartridge. Place it in the back slot. Plug power cord in and allow 30 seconds for priming. Adjust to desired water flow using the Water Flow Adjuster. Maintenance of the Pump Unplug the filter from the power supply. Remove Cover. Pull out the Intake Pipe and the Impeller. Remove Power Cord from channel. Pull out Motor from Filter Case. Clean Impeller and Motor. Insert the Motor back into its compartment. Place the Power Cord back in its channel. Connect the Impeller and Intake Tube to the Motor. Replace Cover. Plug Power Cord into electrical outlet."
