Bradley Mayhew:Bradley has been writing guidebooks for around 15 years now. He started travelling while studying Chinese at Oxford, racing two classmates to Lhasa and winning a crate of Lhasa Beer for his endeavours. His first guidebook was the Odyssey Guide to Uzbekistan, now in its eighth edition, and spent six months there in 1995. His first gigs with Lonely Planet were guides to Pakistan and the Karakorum Highway and progressed from there to write first editions of Southwest China and Shanghai. Over the years he has worked on guides to Mongolia, Jordan, Morocco, India and Indian Himalaya. Bradley's main beat is the Tibetan plateau and Himalaya and is the main author of Lonely Planet guides to Tibet, Nepal, Trekking in the Nepal Himalaya and Bhutan, as well as Central Asia.An expat Brit, Bradley lives in Montana, which is one reason why he's also written Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks and Road Trips Pacific Northwest.

Mark Beales:Since leaving behind the warm beer and cold summers of England, I've travelled all over Thailand (and visited every other country in South East Asia).I've written several guidebooks for Lonely Planet, including the current Thailand guide. Other writing credits include The Guardian, BBC, CNNGo, Bangkok Post, Insight Guides and others). When I'm not dragging my backpack around, I teach English literature at Garden International School (gardenrayong.com), a couple of hours east of Bangkok.Celeste Brash:Celeste currently lives in Portland ,Oregon after 15 years of tropical adventures in French Polynesia. Before her island escapades she lived in Southeast Asia, attended university in Thailand, studied gorillas at the San Francisco Zoo and taught English as a second language (in an American accent) in Brighton, England -- among other things. She's been writing guidebooks for Lonely Planet since 2005 and her travel articles have appeared in major media including the LA Times, BBC Travel, Travel & Leisure and Islands Magazine. She's currently writing a book about her five years on a remote pearl farm in the Tuamotu Atolls and is represented by the Donald Maass Agency, New York.Tim Bewer:After briefly holding fort behind a desk as a legislative assistant, Tim Bewer decided he didn't have the ego to succeed in the political world (or the stomach to work around those who did). He quit his job at the capitol to backpack around West Africa, during which time he pondered what to do next. His answer was to write a travel guide to parks, forests, and wildlife areas of the gorgeous state of Wisconsin. He's been a freelance travel writer and photographer ever since. Since that first book he has written or co-written over a dozen guidebooks on places such as Sudan, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Mexico, Thailand, and Minnesota and his articles have appeared in newspapers and magazines in the USA, Canada, and the UK. Travels for work and pleasure have taken Tim to nearly all of the 50 US states and even more countries. He has resided, at times, in Milwaukee, Denver, Minneapolis, Guayaquil, and London. These days he calls Khon Kaen, Thailand home. Someday, if he can ever find the time, he will finish his novel.Austin Bush:I originally came to Thailand in 1999 as part of a language study programme hosted by Chiang Mai University. The lure of city life, employment and spicy food eventually led me to Bangkok. City life, employment and spicy food have managed to keep me there since. These days, I work as a writer and photographer, and in addition to having contributed to numerous books, magazines and websites, I have contributed text and photos to more than 20 Lonely Planet titles including Bangkok; Bangkok Encounter; The Food Book; Food Lover's Guide to the World; Ko Samui Encounter; Laos; Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei; Myanmar (Burma); Pocket Bangkok; Phuket Encounter; Thailand; Thailand's Islands & Beaches; Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos & Northern Thailand; and The World's Best Street Food.
