As the husband of a home maker I always found that there are many things that my wife spends unnecessary energy and time on which can be made easier with the right appliances. However, my wife is not very comfortable with too many appliances and prefers to use her hands when she can. Her logic is that most appliances increase the work load because you have to first assemble them then take them apart and clean them. It is better to work with your hands. As I disagree with her I keep buying different kitchen appliances for her which she sometimes puts aside after using once or twice. So I was a little skeptical about her reaction when I bought the Philips Hand blender for her. To my surprise she was totally thrilled with this appliance. According to her the part of cooking that she hated the most was kneading dough and this appliance has taken that task off her hands. Now she uses this appliance every day for kneading dough, whipping eggs or cream and mixing ingredients for various recipes. When I asked the secret behind her liking for the hand blender, she enthusiastically said that it actually reduced her work rather than add to it. This appliance is hand held and can be operated very easily. It provides a firm grip and it is very easy to clean it once you have finished using it. If you have been whipping something greasy like cream which would take a long time to clean from a regular blender, all you have to do is run it in detergent liquid and then wash it with plain water and it comes clean. Apart from that in order to get a fluffy omelet she had to whisk the eggs in just the right manner for just the right time and could not always get them right. This blender requires a lot of power compared to the work it does. IT requires a power consumption of 175 Watts. This is slightly high power consumption compared to the frequency. At the same time, the frequency is not high enough for you to work with a larger quantity of ingredients in one go. If you have a large quantity of ingredients, you have to break up the entire amount in smaller portions and then use the blender with them. This takes up a lot of time.
