Response is good across frequency range. Base effect is little less, vocals are strong which I preferred because I listen to podcasts a lot. Standard ear tips do not completely cut back -ground noise, but premium complyfoam tips are provided.

I would prefer Audio Technica ATH-CKX9 / CKX9is (both are same with mic and smartphone buttons' difference) over any other earphones in this price range. The CKX-9 cost around 4070 INR but gives performance like the 3x costlier Klipschs or the Shures. Even the build quality is nice and worth every dime you would spent on it!! The sound is par... Bass and highs are crisp. While the mids are good too.. The only con is that they are uncomfortable. You can't listen to them for hours. My ear starting hurting after 1 hour of continuous listening. I ever tried the different sizes of C-tips but the result was still painful in the end.. Conclusion: Buy these if you want a great sound. But don't if comfortability is major issue for you..
