It does what it is meant to do with precision. This is a nice scanner in the budget category, especially for basic home use. The main disadvantage is that there is no preview option available. Overall software could have been much better. But one cannot ask much for the given price. Just Go for it.
I bought it primarily to scan my huge collection of old photographs.

This little scanner has one of the best performance for probably the lowest price among all scanners available in India.
You'll find many great reviews online, so I'll share a few of the concerns I had (and some I still have) about this otherwise superb machine.
Power consumption: Not an issue. Draws power from a single 5 foot long USB-mini cable and works just fine.
Speed: Scans below 600 DPI are quite fast, above that it's significantly slower than more expensive scanners.
Software: This is one area where Canon's poor MP-Navigator lets the product down. But you can always use third party scanning software or scan directly to your graphics program.
Scan quality: Max optical resolution is 2400 DPI and bit depth as well as color accuracy is excellent. The only issue is focus. The depth of focus is poor, anything more than a millimeter off the glass will be noticably out of focus. Unlike cathode-lamp based scanners/ photocopiers, papers need to be in perfect contact with the glass to be in perfect focus.
Build: It's been working excellently so far. The lid has a double-hinge design that allows it to be raised about 2 cm off the glass. The glass has a raised plastic bezel 2mm high, which means scanning large books brings up focus issues at the edges. If you scan a lot of large documents/ books, you might want to look elsewhere.
Other than these 'issues', which shouldn't hinder everyday functionality, it's a great machine at a great price. Would highly recommend it

Product is good.. user friendly and portable as only usb wire connection to start the machine.
The product is Good, meets expectations to its price. The software is not user friendly and little difficult to handle.
