Yes it requires external power, it is bulky, not portable and heavy. But it does the work for which i buyed it. That crucial extra space that I need. Seagate and Snapdeal thank you for this product. Its been 2 years since i am using it and have no problems thus far. Its reading/writing speed is awesome owing to its usb 3.0 interface. Very good product. This year Seagate launched 4TB portable hard disk but that is 20,000 bucks and it took them 2 years to launch. I am pretty happy with mine.

The drive feels very nice to hold, the casing is good and really looks nice. The drive is USB 3.0 and backward compatible. Since my system has USB 2.0 the transfer is about 30 MB/s, but then when I attach it to newer system having 3.0, it is real fast. How many movies can one keep on 3 TB drive.. Having liked it, I ordered 2 more

THANKS TO SEAGATE AND SNAPDEAL

The first External Hard Disk which is as silent as blood flowing in your veins. The system detects this hard disk in less than 5-6 seconds which is quite quick and amazing, owing to it's 3TB size. Also, with the USB 3.0, the file transfer rate is amazing. I transferred 340 GB of data in less than 20 minutes.. Now you can calculate it's speed!! My verdict: Just go for it!! You won't regret!!

Product Is Very Good,

This is an excellent product by Seagate. Easy to setup and it is quite fast as well. The Dashboard software bundled with the drive is good and offers a lot of features. Most of the operations are driven by just a few clicks. You can setup custom backup policies as well and then just relax :) I tried deleting some files from my primary drive and then restored from the backups done through the Dashboard software and the recovery was fast and restored it to the correct location as well. Note: Its not exactly a problem, but using the Dashboard software creates the backups in nested folders on the drive. It might be a bit difficult to navigate and locate the correct backups. Apart from that there's no issues. I will post again after a few days of using the drive.
