This is fast and responsive, and the auto focus servo is smooth, fast still not noisy. If someone opts for Nikon D 5200 without the stock lens (Body Only) and this Tamron lens separately, it would be a price saving and useful combination in most of the common situations, except for in locations where you can't shoot in small distances; for instance, shooting a group in a small room.But this is how focal length matters! I've used this lens for portraits, even night time marriage events, both indoors and outdoors, with great results. Lastly, you can trust SD for genuine product and fast delivery.

I got the lens after thorough review over the internet with the likes of Matt Granger (That Nikon Guy), Chris Frost, DP Review etc... and i must admit its an amazing peice of glass..! the VC works wonders and better than the Nikon VR II .. (That's from personal experience).. And Snapdeal did a great job of handing over the lens to me before the scheduled time and in an appropriate packing suitable for such a fragile item..! feel free to ask anything more you wud like to know... I have received this product from snap deal within 4 working days of order which is really good. product was well packed. Impressed. Lens is perfect and i m using it now with fullest. I'm happy customer with this lens.

Good lens...awesome VC, great quick autofocus, good range specially on cropped sensor. But Snapdeal's delivery was quite bad this time. The package was completely torn apart from corner as if it was deliberatly cut...the delivery guy explained that he received it such...I even mentioned that in writing before delivery. I only accepted it coz miraculosly the seal was intact. Considering it is quite an expensive and delicate item I was not expecting this kind of handling from Snapdeal.

A reasonably priced lens with a nice feel and capable of producing good quality images. Tamron SP series lenses have always been considered quality products. I am happy to have it in my bag.

Best lens choice after kit lens. Depth of field is amazing good for portraits and nature photography. Auto focus is just awesome.

Excellent Piece of glass for this price. Very good image quality. The VC is the best I have ever used. I faced only one issue with this lens. Though the VC is really good, when trying to pan and shoot a moving object, it sure is a burden to the autofocus system. The VC in this lens is not a smooth one as compared to canon IS or Nikon VR. It locks on the subject and freezes the frame. when there is a shake, to counter-act it, it shifts the whole frame abruptly. So when u look into the viewfinder and try moving your camera, you can see this abrupt shifting. It is very advantageous when shooting stationary subjects - that you can get good shots without any blur at 1/40s shutter speed even at 300mm. But when you try to track a moving subject like a flying bird, as the frame keeps abruptly jumping around constantly, the autofocus system has to work harder and keep hunting for focus. Don't get me wrong here. I don't mean that it is completely unusable for panning. It's just that it is an extra burden on the autofocus system and also to compose tight shots, during panning for moving objects. Overall, this is an excellent lens. Get it, you will be happy !!

an awesome zoom lens , has an expectional range 70-300 translating to 100-450 mm ona my D7000 DX camera. the best part is the VC , its is excepitinally great...... much better than VR offered by nikon. i have used nikon 70-300 vr also , tamaron SP series is clearly better . the only con is ...... even for a D7000 body it seems to be quite heavy, there fore a good quality tripod will be required to achieve stability.
