ReviewIt's nice product and the speed is quite good compared to USB2.0
Reading and writing to the unit was a a bit of a disappointment. I connected it to a USB 3 port on my computer (an i7 3.4Ghz) and tried to copy from/write to a SD card. There seemed no speed difference between a class 4 a class 8 or a class 10 card, which seems to indicate that the type of card had little impact on read/write speeds. On each type of card I managed to get only around 12-14 MBPS when writing to the card and 21-22 MBPS when copying from the card. Deleting files was even slower at just 8-9 MBPS. Its a far cry from the 200 MBPS and other claims made for the card. In fact, the speed difference between this and a USB 2.0 card reader (also of transcend) was negligible. On a more positive side, the variation in speed was negligible and both read write speeds were steady... Overall, I would not recommend this unit.
I was looking for usb 3.0 multi card reader, so that data transfer is faster. Must buy...!!!!
Reliable. My old card readers used to spoil the memory card by getting disconnected during copying data.
I like very much easy to use & very fast
I have purchased a USB 3.0 reader thinking of getting high speeds for transferring files from USB cards (class 10); But with this product I am not getting great speeds (only around 20 MB/s...
it has one problem it sometimes heating very fast
I use this card reader for transferring images from old Sony and Canon cameras, both of which have different cards. Speed is not that great for this USB 3 reader. It starts with 28 MB/s and slows down to around 17 ~ 18 MB/s and sometimes a meagre 8 MB/s. Don't know why. Has a microSD slot so that eliminates the need for an SD adapter. I'll give it 6/10
As usual this product has kept alive my faith in Transcend product. It is serving me well.
