Asterix and the Missing Scroll written by Jean-Yves Ferri is the 36th book in the Asterix series. The theme of this book is about combating and controlling information flow about Gaul.
Synopsis
In this book too, Asterix and Obelix stay at Gaul to fight against the enemies who are spreading rumours about Gaul being conquered by the Romans. The story rotates around the classic book of Julius Caesar, Commentarii de Bello Gallico. However, a few changes have been made and a chapter has been added - Defeats at the Hands of the Indomitable Gauls of Armorica. This new chapter is removed by the enemies of Gaul and the story shows how the information has been tried to be hidden or erased. Since people of Gaul cannot read or write, they have to find a soul who can do it for them. Then Asterix and Obelix come into the picture and along with Getafix and Dogmatix, they travel to meet their teacher. Archeopterix, who is a renowned teacher, is told the whole truth and then he passes on the truth by word of mouth to the next generation.
