Rene Goscinny spent the greater part of his adolescence in Argentina, before in the long run moving to Paris in 1951. Albert Uderzo was born in a little town in Marne, France. He met Rene Goscinny in 1951 and on October 29, 1959. Their well-known creation, Asterix, showed up on Pilote. Asterix the Gaul, their first collection, was distributed in 1961 and there have now been 34 Asterix collections.
