The GPS features a 4.3 inch touchscreen with 480x272 pixel resolution with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. The Garmin nuvi 40LM features multiple options which allow you to view a vast range of information about your current position and status. The Where To option lets you choose the destination in a click from a range of locations and addresses which can be searched instantaneously. The View Map option gives you a top-down view for your street so you can judge your current position more accurately. The Where Am I emergency locator provides you with accurate location in cases of an emergency. The GPS device is pre-loaded with maps for India showing major Points of Interest as well as allowing the option of adding your own.

The Garmin nuvi40LM has an in-built microSD Cardreader to allow you to export and import additional data to and from the GPS unit. It is fully compatible with Garmin Garage which lets you customize which the on-display vehicle model as well as download custom voices for your device. It comes with preloaded City Navigator and Malsingmaps. It can be connected to your car’s power source with the vehicle power cable.
