A universal oil - It is the single most useful essential oil being produced today. It is especially good for treating minor burns, bee and wasp stings, and ant bites. A few drops in the rinse cycle give laundry a very nice fresh scent. Cotton balls treated with lavender oil make an effective moth repellent, either in the closet or between clothes in a drawer; lavender will also repel cockroaches. Try a drop or two in the dishwater, the garbage can, the clothes hamper, the corners of your mattress pad, the inside of a roll of toilet paper. It is beneficial for skin conditions such as burns, rashes, psoriasis, and may also help with insomnia. It is antispasmodic, sedative, hypotensive, calming, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-infectious, cardiotonic, anticoagulant, prevents scarring and relieves headaches and P.M.S symptoms. Antiseptic, cicatrizing (stimulates skin and wound healing without scarring - the best), anti-vemon/poison (bites, stings and contact dermatitis), headaches (vaso-constrictive), hypertension. Use in diffuser, bath, massage, perfume, body/hair care, inhalation, room spray. Many people swear by lavender's ability to aid insomnia. It is said that the essential oil's sedative qualities help to promote sleep. Lavender is credited with the ability to ease anxiety and tension.
