Unique Fine Macro mode 
It possesses a unique Revolutionary Fine Macro Technology which stabilizes the precise fine light control from 1/128 to 1/1024 in 1/6 Ev steps thereby achieving the accuracy of microscope. If you are using the macro flash in manual mode, you can easily adjust the power ratio from full power to 1/64 in 1/3 Ev steps. This mode is particularly useful in cases when you are shooting high sensitive images.

Tube flash design 
Its state-of-the-art Tube flash design aids in achieving uniform light effect. If you wish to adjust Light power ratio control according to light conditions then it can be done independently.

Expansion flash head

 
The ring head is suitable for lens from 49 to 82mm. You can easily expand the ring head to avoid problems like vignetting and hidden corners during macro photography. The package includes adaptor rings of 52, 58, 62, 67, 72 and 77mm.

 

Wireless TTL

It features a wireless TTL with multi-function remote control system. You can use MF18 as master flash to control slave group A and C with ± 3.0Ev compensation setting.


NOTE: In Wireless TTL mode, Group C is slave flash setting and Ev compensation can be adjusted independently. MF18 only supports Group A or C as slave flash.

 

Firmware Update

 

It comes with a USB service terminal so that you easily upgrade the firmware whenever some new software is launched in the market.

Colour and Auto Rotate Display 
The Colour Display of MF18 automatically follows camera angle in different positions. Also, it is equipped with a six icon interface that enhances user experience and represents different menus – Auto, TTL, Wireless TTL (Master), Fine Macro, Manual and Customer Setting.

 

Various functions
It supports Nikoni-TTL system. In the auto mode, the camera automatically controls the flash light. In the TTL mode, the camera automatically controls the flash light but you can compensate the flash exposure value. The wireless mode is used as Master flash to control slave flash Group A or C while the Fine Macro mode can be used to adjust the flash power from 1/128 to 1/1024 at every 1/6 Ev steps. Again, in manual mode, users can adjust the flash power from full power to 1/64 at every 1/3 Ev steps.

One of the best features of MF18 macro flash is users can customize almost all settings as per their convenience. To make it easier for photographers to focus on the shooting subject, the macro flash is equipped with LED focus lamp with light power ratio control. The brightness reflects flash power ratio setting of left and right. Also, you can preview the effect.

My TTL Setting

Keeping in mind Nissin’s standard, TTL exposure level is accurately calibrated to achieve standard balance. However, if you wish to customize the setting in any manner, it can be adjusted for about ±3Ev by every 1/3 step.

Quick Loading Battery Magazine06
The MF18 features a battery magazine system which is quick as well as convenient. This intelligently designed battery magazine provides all four AA-size batteries slot in the same direction, so that you can insert the batteries correctly even in dearth of proper lighting conditions.

 

Rear curtain sync and High speed shutter
In Rear curtain sync, the flash fires only before the rear curtain closes. If you use this function at slow shutter speed, a moving subject will appear with moving marks behind. It is recommended to use high speed sync for daylight flash photography. It is worth mentioning that this feature can be used only in TTL mode.
