For playback in other rooms the VSX-1123-K offers HDZone, a Zone 2 HDMI out for routing either the same signal as the main zone or a separate source to a second zone via HDMI.
Aside from a digital connection with your iPod, iPhone or iPad, you get easy-to-operate worldwide internet radio (vTuner) and network streaming via DLNA or Apple AirPlay when you connect via LAN (optional adapter for wireless LAN available). Enjoy high-resolution music file playback such as WAV, FLAC, AIFF and Apple Lossless via LAN or USB. WAV, FLAC, AIFF and DSD (USB only) in resolutions up to 192kHz/24-bit are supported. The VSX-1123 also offers playback of audio files stored in the Direct Streaming Digital (DSD) format through its front USB.

DLNA and AirPlay are widely supported on PCs, laptops, smartphones and other devices. As this receiver is DLNA and AirPlay certified, you can easily stream audio from such a device. Apple's AirPlay lets you stream music from your entire iTunes library.
Energy efficient settings
Use the ECO Mode to save energy. It analyses your sources in real time, adjusting power consumption accordingly to meet your needs, or you can choose the power-saving settings that are right for you. You can control ECO Mode using the receiver's front panel, the included remote control, or the ECO Manager page of Pioneer's free iControlAV2013 for your smartphone or tablet.
The remote reinvented
iControlAV lets you modify all important receiver functions from your smartphone or tablet (iOS / Android). The 2013 version brings a new user interface and easy to navigate feature menu, as well as a dedicated “ECO MANAGER” page for energy efficient settings. PUSH PLAYER, Pioneer’s new music streaming setting, lets you access the music libraries stored on your device and create playlists that can be streamed wirelessly to the receiver, all from within the app.
