Description

MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE FOR VARIOUS SOURCES
The video and audio circuits of these Blu-ray Disc players have been further refined — such as high-quality video D/A converter and 192 Hz/32-bit audio D/A converter on the BDP-LX55 — to bring out the best from the latest 3D content. The units are compatible with DivX Plus HD and MKV format, as well as almost any package media including DVD-Audio* and SACD. As for network features, DLNA certification allows playback of various PC content including high-quality audio FLAC** files. By combining compatible Pioneer A/V receivers, Stream Smoother Link*** and Sound Retriever Link each optimises lossy video and audio files through HDMI connection.
* BDP-LX55 and BDP-440 only
** BDP-LX55 only
*** BDP-440 and BDP-140 only
TRIPLE HIGH-DEFINITION NOISE REDUCTION
The Blu-ray Disc player features three separate noise reduction circuits for enhanced video performance:
- Component Frame Noise Reduction (YNR/CNR): reduces Gaussian noise without blurring the picture
- Block Noise Reduction: reduces block noise in moving images
- Mosquito Noise Reduction: reduces random noise along the outline of the images
PQLS BIT-STREAM
The BDP-LX55 and BDP-440 feature PQLS Bit-stream, the latest version of Pioneer's PQLS jitter reduction technology. By HDMI connection with a compatible A/V receiver, the Blu-ray Disc players can transmit not only CD audio and DVD/Blu-ray Disc multi-channel sound, but also linear PCM, and bit-stream signals with minimum quality loss, to reproduce realistic sound.*
* Available by connecting with a compatible Pioneer A/V receiver. Refer to page 6 for details.
DVD-AUDIO/SACD COMPATIBLE
The Blu-ray Disc players can play back DVD-Audio and SACD — highfidelity audio formats far exceeding CD in capacity and sound quality. The units can also output DSD signals.
* Compatible with SACD only
ROBUST CONSTRUCTION DESIGN
The BDP-LX55 adopts two robust construction designs. A newly developed rigid mechanical base and a layered chassis enhance vibration control. The heavy chassis design helps to reduce vibration for higher-quality sound.
READY FOR ICONTROLAV2 APP FOR IPOD TOUCH, IPHONE, IPAD, AND ANDROID
iControlAV2 is an iPod touch/iPhone/iPad and Android application developed by Pioneer, freely downloadable from the App Store. The application allows you to use your device as a remote for controlling the Blu-ray Disc player's basic functions. Enjoy smooth control on your device's screen, with support for 8 languages (same setting as your iPod touch/iPhone/iPad, and Android).
* Blu-ray Disc player needs to be connected to a home LAN network in a wireless LAN environment.
YOUTUBE VIDEO/PICASA ON TV
You can easily view YouTube video or Picasa photos on your TV screen by connecting the Blu-ray Disc player to the internet.
STREAM SMOOTHER
Stream Smoother is a newly developed video adjustment feature for watching network content on your home theatre. It reduces block noise and mosquito noise on low bit rate video content such as YouTube, offering finer and clearer images. The BDP-LX55 automatically detects the source type, and turns Stream Smoother on or off accordingly.
STREAM SMOOTHER LINK
The link feature allows compatible Pioneer A/V receiver (SC-LX85/SCLX75) to access original video file information on the Blu-ray Disc player via HDMI, and the A/V receiver automatically switches Stream Smoother on or off accordingly. Stream Smoother is turned off for Blu-ray Disc and DVD sources, and turned on for network content.
SOUND RETRIEVER LINK
The feature optimises the quality of compressed audio files by allowing compatible Pioneer A/V receiver to access the original file information via HDMI connection.
