How Does It Work?

Step 1: Put TagBugs tags on the things you treasure and would hate to lose. Things like phones, tablets, cameras, bags, keys, purses & wallets, squash rackets, notebooks.

Step 2: Activate your TagBug and update your contact details. The unique ID on the Tag gets registered and updated in your name. These contact details are stored in a highly secure cloud server and will never be shared with anyone. Not even with a finder. They can only contact you through our platform, without getting direct access to your contact details.

Step 3: If ever, your item is lost, TagBug will help us connect you with the finder. To notify you, the finder can Call our Customer care number mentioned on each tag, Scan the QR code, or Enter the unique ID at TagBug.me. Instantly an auto generated SMS and email notification is sent to your registered contact details.

Step 4: You can either contact the finder directly to arrange for a pick up or request our customer care team to liaison. Get reunited with the things you love. Once you are reunited with you lost valuable, do take some time to thank the finder.

Q. Why can't I just stick a note with my name and phone number instead of TagBug?
A. You could but then you carry the risk of sharing your personal information with anybody who cares to peep over your shoulder. We think the spammers should have to work harder to get your information.
Q. How many honest people are in India actually?
A. Imagine if you find a lost item. Would you want to return it to the owner? Well..okay, we admit a million dollars could be too tempting, but unfortunately nobody leaves that kind of bounty lying around. For the small things we do find, trust us, there are many who think exactly like us. Don’t take our word for it, check out these global honesty surveys.
Q. Is there a 100% guarantee that I get back my TagBug’ed item?
A. No. Unfortunately, it ain't a perfect world. But think of this. If your lost item is indeed found by an honest person, without a TagBug, there is hardly a way for them to could notify you. Wouldn't you want to increase the chances that you do indeed get it back.
Q. Do I have to pay anything beyond the cost of the Tagbug?
A. No. You already paid for the service and it is good until the tag dies an honorable death or until 4 years from your date of purchase, whichever happens later.
Q. Will the print on Tagbug fade away?
A. While nothing is permanent in this world, we have ensured we use latest technologies in our manufacturing process. Under normal usage a TagBug will hold good for more than 4 years. Only when put on surfaces that experience constant scuffing such as back of the phones, the TagBugs may experience slight fading. But don’t worry. If you genuinely feel your TagBug has faded prematurely, we will send you a complimentary one.
Q. How secure are my contact details?
A. Security of your data is our priority. We store our data on encrypted cloud severs.
Q. Can the finder hide their contact details to owner and still return the item?
A. Yes. We facilitate anonymous returns by contacting and working with the finder. We may have to charge you for any logistic charges incurred in the exchange though.
Q. How many TagBugs can a user register?
A. You’ve got devices to protect, we've got the Tags to enable that. After all, that's the only reason we exist, well, other than making sure our children are well fed at home. There is no limit to the number of TagBugs that a user account can activate. Some of our users have protected as many as 16 items.
Q. What if I get a faulty TagBug that doesn’t get activated?
A. Congratulations! You will be one of the lucky ones to get a free replacement from us. Conditions apply, just let us know within the first 1 month of your purchase.
Q. How will the finder know what to do upon finding a TagBug’ed item as not everybody knows about TagBug?
A. Our designers wanted to get paid, so they made sure they fit all the relevant information on that little Tag you got and they made it easy to understand.
