Description

IR C2360 is a ceiling mount infrared motion sensor. The highly sensitive pyro-sensor gives it coverage of 360 at the aperture angle of 120 with the detection reach of 6 meters. It is most suitable for medium sized covered areas.

IR C2360 PIR ceiling mount motion sensor:

IR C2360 is a ceiling mount infrared motion sensor. The highly sensitive pyro-sensor gives it coverage of 360⁰ at the aperture angle of 120⁰ with the detection reach of 6 meters. It is most suitable for medium sized covered areas.

Motion sensor:

Motion sensor is an intelligent device which controls the ON-OFF operation of electrical loads. When it detects motion inside its detection area, it automatically turns the load ON. It turns OFF the load after preset time delay if no movement is detected for the set time.

It provides artificial light only when it is needed. This reduces the large amount of energy wastage and helps in making the most energy efficient lightings.

IR C2360 – ceiling mount PIR motion sensor:

IR C2360 is a ceiling mount passive Infrared motion sensor. It has highly sensitive pyro-sensor operating as the heart of its system. It detects heat radiated from a body. Segmented lenses divide the whole detection area into passive and active zones. When any warm object like human body moves between the zones, it is detected as a change in voltage by the pyro-sensor. When it detects such movement, it triggers the switching mechanism to operate the connected load.

As the pyro-sensor operates by detecting change in the temperature, the ambient temperature plays important role in working of this motion sensor. Maximum detection reach distance mentioned in the technical specifications is measured at the ambient temperature of 25⁰ C. Detection reach distance might change with the change in ambient temperature.

Selecting the installation location:

● Mounting height: With the increased mounting height, the detection area increases and sensitivity to detect the movement is reduced. Hence the product must be installed at the optimal mounting height to suit the particular application.

● Detection cone: Make sure to cover the required detection area. Avoid window surfaces.

● Avoid exposure to direct light. This may disturb the operation of photocell and it might not able to measure the correct ambient brightness level.

● Do not place devices that radiate heat inside the motion sensor’s detection zone.

● Minimum distance of 50 cm should be maintained between the light and the motion sensor, since the heat radiated from the light source could result in false triggering of the sensor.

● Avoid disturbance or distraction by obstacles or moving objects like fan, curtains, ventilator drafts, hanging lamps, trees, etc. It cannot detect the movement through obstacles like glass partition, wall, etc.

● Passive infrared motion sensor detects movements at right angles (tangential movement) more precisely. Decide the place for installation accordingly.

Indicator LED:

● Indicator LED fitted near the segmented lens indicates working condition of the motion sensor.

● During the power up: Motion sensor calibrates its system when power is applied by turning ON the switch. During this calibration process, the indicator LED turns Red and also Load is turned ON. This indicates proper phase and neutral connections are in place and it has received the power. After the preset off-delay timing, the indicator LED turns Green and load turns OFF.

● During Normal operation: When there is no movement (or when the ambient light is above the set threshold value), motion sensor will keep the load OFF and indicator LED in Green. When there is any movement detected, load will be turned ON and the LED will be turned Red.

Installation:

When power is applied to motion sensor, it calibrates its system. During this calibration process, indicator LED turns Red and load turns ON for the preset off-delay timing. It takes around 20 seconds of time till it comes to steady state condition. During this time motion sensor does not detect any movement. Modify any setting only after it comes to steady state condition.

Follow the below sequence for required time and lux settings.

-          Set the Time to minimum and Lux to maximum (Day mode).

-          First, adjust the Time setting knob to set the required off-delay timing.

-          Set the desired lux value by adjusting the lux setting knob.
