I was previously using AMD Fx 4100. This is the best possible upgrade I could think off as I didn't want to change my existing motherboard. I've noticed almost double performance boost after I started using this processor. I see increased performance for many games I play and applications I use. But i'm not really happy with the stock cooler as it's bit too noisy but works very well. For overclocking, after market cooler is recommended.
better than intel i5 2nd and 3rd gen
Look, don't just jump to conclusions with the "8 cores 4 GHz" specs. You'll be fooling yourself. Instead, check "benchmarks", for every computer component and you'll get the answer to "why this price?" question. Using this one with GTX 670 and 1866 MHz 8 GB ram. Graphics are slightly better than PS4 on the games currently in market. Overclocked it to 4.7 GHz, and performance is really satisfying.
8 cores ;) dude! No words !
processor is good but stock cooler is not good making noise better go for other stock cooler for better performance.
Your computer will surely perform amazingly with the AMD 8350 Processor. This powerful processor lets you do more in less time and enhances your computers digital life. Good product over all.
So how is the 8350, it has the vishera core compared to the bulldozer core of the 8150. what does it mean for the average user ? well the bulldozer core is a flawed CPU, it might cost as much as a 8350, but it performs far worse. I have a 8120 8core which is slower than a xt1055 6core which is 3 years old! So how is 8350 ? the new core is falwless, its fast, blazingly so. the 4 ghz core clock can go up 4.3 on stock cooling, and 4.8 on special coolers.
This processor is incredibly powerful for multithreaded tasks . though per core performance is lesser to that of Intel processors, it surely destroys their pride in the multi core performance. This processor is wrongly compared with the Intel flagship processors. people who do so are dolts who misjudge it's category, it might be AMD's flagship but tends to fall in the same category as the top of the line core i5s. here competing with the core i5s it's surely an easy winner in majorly every aspect. considering the price point it can not be compared to current generation core i7s but it does easily defeat core i7 920 hailing from 1st generation. i have my older machine with core i7 920 setup on Asus Rampage II mobo. my newer machine has this FX8350 setup on Asrock 990FX Extreme4 mobo. for me AMD is a clear winner here. But the cons mentioned against this proc in online forums aren't altogether wrong either. i have faced certain BSODs, machine freezes, boot failures on my newer machine, though it's lil over a week old. the heatsink that comes along with this processor is extremely loud, it sounds more like the turbo jets of an aeroplane. sometimes the noise is audible even in my living room from the pc running in my bedroom. i had to lower the clock speed to 3.6 ghz so as to make the heatsink behave socially. other issue (though nothing went wrong) that i faced was that the HT link was running at much higher a frequency than NB. i had learned on several online forums that NB should never be lower than HT link. so when i encountered certain BSODs & system freezes, i lowered the HT link to 2200 Mhz & upped the NB to 2400 MHz. since then i haven't encountered any BSODs anymore. i am not sure whether these BSODs had anything to do with this NB-HT relation but my machine is running more stably since then. all in all it's a powerful processor, given that it's coupled with an equally feature rich & resourceful mobo. My present setup is AMD FX 8350 @ 3.6GHz ASrock 990FX Extreme4 G.Skill 1333 4x4GB 2 AMD HD6870 1GB crossfired OCZ Agility 3rd gen 120GB SSD Windows Ultimate x64 All put together inside CM Centurion chasis with CM 750 watt PSU. Suggestions or corrections regarding my experience with this processor are most welcome & will prove helpful to me. Thanx in advance.
good
I am using FX 8350 for 2 months now with an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 motherboard. It was overclocked to 4.2 GHz with the stock cooler. Now I'm using read more
The product does its thing but hangs sometimes and also heats so much that computer freezes. yeah but for Home PC or Normal Gaming it does do magic. read more
