Description

Baba's Saffron is sowed, plucked and packed directly from the farms of Baba's. Don't get us wrong, we fully support the ideals of the fair trade system, but sometimes that's just not enough for us to say "Our Saffron beats their Saffron." Originating in Kashmir, the Kashmiri Saffron is the world class saffron with warm flavour and a light aftertaste. This is the 'classical' saffron that most stores put on their shelves. Robusta flakes are grown in the southern parts of Kashmir, with a dark, rich flavour; This is the perfect leaf for making Kashmiri Kehwa, or any number of rich delicacies. They are so confident in quality hence offer two years replacement guarantee. Approximately 150000 flowers are needed for one kilogram of dried saffron; typically, one would need 2000 m2 field area per kg harvest. Less expensive qualities include also the yellow stamina (male sexual organ), which do not have any taste of their own.
