Introduction
BenQ MX850UST Projector has been designed to deliver disruption-free learning in small-sized classrooms. It offers 81 inch XGA picture in only 0.74 meters with a 0.4 ultra-short-throw ratio. Along with that, the projector has a contrast ratio of 13000:1 and 2500 ANSI lumen brightness to produce the most vibrant image quality to present.
The BenQ projector introduces new technologies and teaching tools into their classrooms with the factors like cost-effectiveness and low power consumption. To save power, the projector has been developed with great power efficient features like SmartEco Mode, Eco Blank Mode, SmartEco Technology and No Source Detected Mode. All these features are designed in order to save avoidable power consumption.
To help increase the shelf life of the projector lamp, the device has been designed with Standby mode. In this mode, the projector keeps power consumption to a minimum with <0.5 W standby power, when left inactive.

SmartEco Technology
As a DLP brand, BenQ was the first to include Philips’ ImageCare technology into its projector lamp system with the purpose to save energy. Further, to save more energy, the BenQ MX850UST projector system designed its very own SmartEco Technology which can decrease the power consumption to a large amount. As a result, it allows the user to project various media content without negotiating on the quality and brightness of the projected image.

Eco Blank Mode
The BenQ MX850UST projector has been designed with the Eco Blank Mode to save unnecessary power consumption. When it is activated, it considerably blanks the projection of the media content to dim the lamp power automatically. This in return, lowers down the total power consumption by 70%. You simply need to press the “Eco Blank Mode” key on the keypad or the “Blank” button on the remote control to activate the Eco Blank Mode.

SmartEco Mode
The BenQ MX850UST projector system comprises of the SmartEco Mode function. This function considerably adjusts the lamp power to save power consumption. It does not lower down the quality of the original content while offering brilliant projection of the required content with optimal contrast and high brightness. The projector works on the mechanism of providing light to the image as required and not in excess.

No Source Detected Mode
It is common in a classroom PC or a notebook that the projector is turned on without a display source. To reduce power wastage by avoiding a projector from running with full lamp power, the MX850UST has been developed with No Source Detected Mode. It lowers the projector lamp’s brightness to 30% after the projector has been left unconnected to a display source for more than 3 minutes.

<0.5 Watt in Standby Mode
When left in an inactive condition, the BenQ MX850UST projector reduces the power consumption. It goes to standby mode after a certain period of time when not in use. In this mode, the projector only uses <0.5 watt of power. This as a result increases the projector lamp’s shelf life and reduces the energy costs.

Hassle-Free Projector Maintenance
Replacement of the projector has been made easy with the MX850UST projector because it has an upper lamp door design. This design facilitates the user to remove or replace the projector lamp easily without any hassles. For example, if the lamp shuts down in the middle of a presentation, you can quickly change the lamp without much delay.

Security Bar to Discourage Theft
To add additional security to a classroom projector, the BenQ MX850UST projector comes with a security bar that has been designed to enable projector managers to secure their classroom projectors either to a ceiling mount or an audio visual equipment cart. To discourage opportunistic thieves, all of the BenQ’s education projectors are built with a security bar.
