Synopsis

This book comes with 13 chapters and each of these chapters complements the 13 episodes of the Cosmos TV series. Each of these chapters is heavily illustrated in the original version of the book and it covers a broad range of topics consisting of Carl's ideas on cosmological, anthropological, historical, biological and astronomical matters starting from the ancient past to the contemporary time.

In this book, Carl has mentioned about extraterrestrial life several times and said that the vastness of the universe does permit the existence of numerous alien civilisations though there is no credible evidence to prove the fact that aliens have visited the earth ever. The author explores the story of 15 billion years of cosmic evolution along with the development of science and civilisation.
