Description

Synopsis
In 1942, Anne Frank received a diary for her thirteenth birthday. She began writing in it two days later, dubbing the diary Kitty. She wrote about many things, her admiration for her father, the lack of daughterly love for her mother, her affection for her sister and the atrocities of the Nazis as they occupied the Netherlands. Writing in Dutch, Anne wrote to imaginary friends, and eventually focused on just Kitty by the time she reached the second volume. Believed to be originally at least three volumes, covering the events faced by the Franks from June 1942 to April 1944, her writings were revealed to the world by her father, Otto Frank. Two days before her thirteenth birthday, a young girl in the Netherlands began a personal diary just as it went under Nazi rule. In time, The Diary of A Young Girl by Anne Frank has become one of the most read accounts of the Nazi rule and of human courage ever written. 'The Diary of a Young Girl' is a book of the writings from the Dutch language diary kept by Anne Frank while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. This novel The Diary of A Young Girl has been penned down by Anne Frank.

About the Author
Annelies Marie Frank was a German-born diarist and writer. She is one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Her diary, The Diary of a Young Girl, which documents her life in hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II, is one of the world's most widely known books and has been the basis for several plays and films. Otto Frank, the only survivor of the family, returned to Amsterdam after the war to find that Anne's diary had been saved by one of the helpers, Miep Gies, and his efforts led to its publication in 1947. It was translated from its original Dutch version and first published in English in 1952 as The Diary of a Young Girl, and has since been translated into over 60 languages. The diary, which was given to Anne on her thirteenth birthday, chronicles her life from 12 June 1942 until 1 August 1944.
