Description

This exclusive three framed painting in dhokra craft has been chiseled to perfection. A great addition to your home décor, this painting encompasses unique metal craft molded in three frames in an antique like manner. Skilled artisans make these paintings in an ethnic wooden frame. An art work worth admiration, this dhokra/dokra painting is an idea gift for your friends and family. It’s made by an organization called Sasha. Dhokra is a traditional tribal method of lost wax casting of brass with every piece being unique. The origin of this craft can be traced back to the distant past, when this artwork was encouraged by royal patronage. Conjured by the creative sensibilities of the artisans, the crafts display an artistic intriguing wax wirework finish that exhibit striking harmony, beauty and utility value. The craft is associated with nine different communities of the State- jhara, santal, situlia and more, reflecting their ethnic identity, heritage, design and motifs. These artifacts are universally admired and collected as household decorative objects for their ethnic beauty and artistic ingenuity. These paintings are made by Jara tribe, a community based out of West Bengal. Sasha supports, finances and trains them.
