Himalayan Oregano
Oregano is known as "the spice of life," is native to temperate western and southwestern Eurasia and the Mediterranean region. Being a perennial herb, it is planted in early spring as it often doesn't survive winters.
The word "Oregano" is derived from the Latin word "Origanum," which means "bright" or "the brightness of the mountain." Oregano provides more flavors when it is dried as compared to fresh oregano. When crushed, oregano releases its oil and, thus, adds flavor to food.

Oregano is abundantly available in the Himalayas and is grown at the height of 6000-7000 ft. Oregano is used to prepare tea, works as a flavoring agent, and is used for its aroma.
