About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:- Dr. Bedprakas Syam Roy did his MA in Economics in 1968 from the Calcutta University and Ph.D from the North Bengal University in 1987.He started his career in the West Bengal Civil Service (1970) and was then selected in the IAS (1989 ).He retired as Special Secretary, Development and Planning .After retirement; he served as a Member of the Third State Finance Commission, West Bengal. He is specialised in development administration, decentralised planning and state planning. He authored eleven books and several articles. Dr. Maniparna Syam Roy did her M.Sc. in Economics from Calcutta University in the year 2003 and Ph.D. in Economics from Jadavpur University in the year 2011. She is currently Assistant Professor of Economics in Asutosh College, Kolkata and also a Guest faculty of the Department of Economics, University of Calcutta. She is the author of two books and several articles in peer reviewed journals.
