Description

In 1836 the british chemist john frederic daniel (1790-1845) proposed an improved electric cell that supplied an even current during continuous operation. Daniel cell consisted of a glass jar containing copper and zinc electrodes, each immersed in their respective acidic sulphate solutions. The two solutions were separated by a porous clay cylinder separator. It was a galvanic cell in which the spontaneous electrodis solution of zinc and electroplating of copper provided the electrical current. How it works when the zinc and copper electrodes are joined by wire, the following observations are made: • there is a flow of electric current through the external circuit. • the zinc rod loses its mass while the copper rod gains in mass. • the concentration of znso4 solution increases while the concentration of copper sulfate solution decreases. • the solutions in both the compartments remain electrically neutral. The framework is made of plastic material and other handmade parts. Please be gentle, careful while assembling. This product is designed for a single use. Apply your creativity while assembling. Assembly manual is provided with the kit. All of junior scientist products are unique and handmade. We work by designs and endeavor to create like products. However the very nature of being individually designed by hand gives raw finishing of the projects since it should look that students have created on its own. The project is for demonstration and informational purposes only and one can perform this activity only one time. Single use only . One of the critical skills required for any scientist is the ability to consistently design and carry out successful experiments. There are of course many variables that can cause an experiment to fail, but there are some basic steps that, if taken routinely, can increase your chances of success every time. Safety guidelines : fire, chemical handling, eye safety, clothing protection & glassware ... Always conduct your experiments with adult supervision. ... Never smell or taste any chemicals unless instructed to do so by your teacher and the. When working with chemicals, chemical safety goggles, gloves, and a lab coat should be the first pieces of equipment on your list.
