The Leica 18mm f/3.8 Super-Elmar-M Aspherical Manual Focus Lens guarantees the outstanding lens qualities, typical of Leica while successfully merging the ambitious wide-angle photography with the very best in optical design. It is achieved through the patented and space saving yet extremely effective lens hood. The Lens is impressive with a super wide angle of view when mounted on the Leica M Series analogue or full-frame digital cameras, such as the Leica M9. It has a retrofocus-like architecture featuring eight lens elements of which one boasts two aspherical surfaces to ensure outstanding image quality at open aperture.

The Leica 18mm f/3.8 Super-Elmar-M Aspherical Manual Focus Lens has an angle of 100 degree angle of view for diagonal, 90 degree angle of view for horizontal and 67 degree angle of view for vertical. It has 8 lenses in 7 groups, with a focal length of 18.3mm and a focussing range of 0.7m to infinity. The lens has a manual diaphragm aperture with click stops and half-values available for maximum control. The lens is 58mm long and weighs approximately 310 grams.
