ABOUT THE BOOK

We all have wish-lists and bucket lists in life. Musafir Café is about this, and much more. It is about that moment when we take a pause, when we try and slow ourselves down to assess where are we, and where we want to go from here.

Musafir Café is the story of two young, modern individuals, Sudha and Chandar. Sudha is a lawyer; she is a strong, free-spirited girl, and her ambition is to become the top lawyer in the country. Chandar, meanwhile, is a confused software engineer. Though both of them are sure that they don’t want to get married and settle down with anyone, they play the ‘meeting’ game every weekend for their parents’ sake. Events lead them to staying together for a weekend, but they become so habituated to each other’s presence in their lives, that it becomes an unplanned livein relationship.

Musafir Café is not only the story of Sudha and Chandar, it’s the story of every one of us who is trying to tick things off a bucket list and is searching for a perfect life.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

In many ways, a good wine and a good author are judged by their maturity. That Divya Prakash Dubey is not new wine in an old bottle was clear from his very first book, and in this story he takes his storytelling up by many levels. Already a bestselling author of two short story collections (Masala Chai and Terms and Conditions Apply), this is first novel. Besides writing, he is also popularizing his brand of storytelling — ‘Story Bazi’. His letters, popularly called ‘Sunday Wali Chitthi’, are widely read and present many points and thoughts of everyday importance which we are not able to share otherwise. As the first person to give a TedX talk in Hindi, he is making significant inroads in the otherwise non-existent ‘popular Hindi writing’ genre.
