The 2nd edition of Pharmacognosy (Part I) deals with the multidisciplinary characters of drugs, such as, its origin, morphology and microscopy to determine quality of drug, its chemical composition and therapeutic effects. Pharmacognosy also develops methods of control to identify the plant products and to understand about the side effects and interaction of drugs. This edition is redesigned into eight chapters. Each chapter is written with the aim to give a reasonable background to academician and researchers in the respective topic.
