Not illustrated. 1825 Excerpt: ... unjust that Barristers at Law who are in the respective Offices of Clerk of the Crown in the Court of King's Bench and Clerk of the Peace in the Court of Quarter Sessions, should be prevented from practising as Barristers and Attorneys at Law in Civil, Suits, pending in the said Courts of King's Bench, in the Court of Vice Admiralty or in the Provincial Court of Appeals: Be it therefore enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Assembly of the Province of Lower-Canada, constituted and assembled by autorisee, de s'abstenir de prononcer la sentence de mort contre tel delinquant, telle ienteatc et au lieu de prononcer tel jugement, d'ordonner qu'il soit entre de record sur Iur-R-g 'r.. le Registre, et sur quoi tel Officier auquel il appartiendra comme susdit, pourraet il est par le present autorise d'inscrire la sentence de mort sur le Registre contre tel delinquant dans la forme ordinaire et usitee, et de telle et de la meme maniere que maintenant usitee, et comme si telle sentence de mort avoit ete effectivement prononcee en pleine Cour contre tel delinquant, par la Cour devant laquelle tel delinquant aura ete convaincu.
